- Using a spring of medium hardness, determine the length or extension of the spring when adding 0, 50, 100 and 250 grams. Record your results in a carefully drawn table. Draw a line graph.
- Make spring 3 of maximum hardness. Again add 0, 50, 100, 250 grams. Record your results and add the values to the same axes.
- Briefly comment on the effect of the hardness of the spring on its elasticity.
- Using spring 2 set at medium hardness, determine the three unknown masses. Show your results in a table (no further graph required).
Compare the resulting extension on Jupiter, Earth, Moon and Planet X. Why is there no extension when g=0? How did you ensure a fair test?
